The stock tuners maintain tuning stability quite well and contrary to what Musician's friend says, they are not Grovers but stock ESP's. The stock ESP LS-100 & LH-100 pups have some serious sustain to them but, need to be not too close to the strings in order to have a good tone. The quality and setup on this, was pretty horrible. Mine had sone fret edges sticking out, which I did sand down and the string height was very high. It did need a proper setup and intonation check, which I did provide. Once I did that, it was like having a brand new guitar that cost twice as much the price I paid. For the price, if you can find one that doesn't have fret edges or the E string, slipping out of the nut, then you got yourself a bargain. Other than that, be prepared to put some work into it for it to be truly playable. Once I filed down the fret edges and did a setup, restringing, and intonation check, along with adjusting the pickup height, I was blown away at how good this guitar actually sounds. I know that today's kids use ESP's for mostly Metal but, I'm a 52 year old rocker who plays Classic Rock and Blues and this axe can handle both styles with ease. Plus it's easy on my back, which is a added plus. I've had this for only a month and I've already have used it at several gigs as the only guitar and have gotten compliments on the tone and sound from it. My advice is this, if you want to buy one of these and happen to come across some of the issues I mentioned, be prepared to put some work into it, but in the long run, it will be worth it!
