E-II Mystique is a relatively new series in the ESP catalog and it`s mission is to offer an even greater variety to the electric guitar lovers. This type and design of electric guitar is a new occurrence in the catalog, a new take on the fairly old concept (a solid-bodied guitar with double-cut body and dual humbucker configuration of pickups). E-II Mystique FR is one of two models in the current lineup and it comes only in black. Glossy finish and black hardware match the theme quite nicely, they give it a serious, elegant and down-to-business look. Solid and double-cut body is made of mahogany, instead of alder (alder is ESP`s most heavily used tonewood) and is paired with a mahogany neck (replacing maple). Judging by the tonewood selection, the target is US market and the US made and designed guitars in the upper middle class (all-mahogany guitars with dual humbuckers make up the bulk of the upper middle class in catalogs of the US brands). Bridge section is fit with a Floyd Rose tremolo system with six saddles. Seymour Duncan supplies the artillery in shape of the TB-14 in the bridge and SH-1N in the neck position. Simple controls unit is made up of a master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Mahogany neck rocks the super thin U contour in the back and a bound ebony fingerboard on the top. It has 24 jumbo-sized frets, block inlays and a locking nut.
