TV Pelham Blue
ES-339 is one of the ES models from the Epiphone and Gibson catalog. It was first introduced as the descendant of the ES-335`s throne, but due to immense popularity, both models are still produced and maintain very strong positions in the catalog. ES-339 is a semi-hollow guitar with Les Paul-sized body. It is double-cut and always features set in necks. There are two main variants of the neck profile used for ES-335s. One is 30/60 and the other is classic '59 contour. This time around, slim taper from 1960s is used. ES-339 PRO Ltd. Ed. TV Pelham Blue is a part of the announced Ltd. Ed. TV Pelham Blue series, which will be available this summer. All six models in this series are available only in TV Pelham Blue color with high gloss finish. All six represent different model families from Epiphone catalog. This particular ES-355 comes with a semi-hollow body made completely of laminated maple. Carved top is equipped with bound "f" holes, black plastic piskguard and five-ply binding. Bridge section is a classic one, inherited from the ES-335. It includes a Locktone tune-o-matic bridge in the front with stoptail bar in the back. Pickups department is equipped with a pair of Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers. They feature a standard controls unit, made up of two volume knobs, two tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Volume knobs are equipped with push-pull switches for coil splitting, adding numerous possibilities and tone variations. Mahogany neck is set in and equipped with 1960s slim taper contour in the back. On it`s top, Epiphone installs a bound fingerboard made of rosewood. It features 22 medium jumbo-sized frets, white dot inlays, 12" radius and 1-11/16" wide string nut. Headstock is equipped with a set of six Grover tuning machines with 18:1 gear ratio.
