There`s just something that strikes a chord with vintage-styled/modern-sounding guitars. Regardless if they`re solids, semi-hollows or full-blown archtops, players just can`t seem to get enough of them. D`Angelico`s Excel 175 is one of the best examples how to make a proper vintage/modern guitar, without a boutique price tag.
Excel 175 starts off with a fully hollow, 16" wide body made of laminated flamed maple (back, sides) and solid spruce (sound board). Three-piece maple/walnut/maple neck and 22-fret rosewood fingerboard complete the chassis. Black, Natural Tint and Cherry Sunburst color options are available.
Hardware and electronics section also boasts a tune-o-matic bridge with Bigsby vibrato bar in the back, Kent Armstrong high-output humbuckers and Grover Rotomatic tuners.
