Cabronita is one of the most interesting concepts in contemporary Fender catalog. It mixes characteristic vintage styling and distinctive tone. Models with Cabronita treatment feature stripped down styling, basic electronics and Filter`Tron pickups. The good news for the players who love the 1950s and 1960s rhythm & blues and rock and roll tone is that Cabronitas are becoming common models in Squier range and will cost fairly less than their upscale counterparts in Fender catalog. For the summer 2013, Squier has introduced a multitude of new four and six-stringers and Vintage Modified Cabronita Precision Bass is one of them. It features a solid, double-cut body made of basswood (in Squier segment, basswood replaces alder as the primary tonewood). Characteristic styling includes black-clad body with glossy finish, chrome-plated hardware and vintage-styled plastic pickguard. Bridge on this model is the standard four-saddled high mass bridge with chrome plating. In it`s front, there is only one pickup, the middle-positioned Filter`Tron minibucker. Master volume and master tone knobs comprise the controls unit. Maple neck is bolted to the body and it features the modern C contour in the back. On its top, Squier installs the standard 20-fret maple fingerboard. Vintage tuners, black dot inlays, 34" scale, 9.50" fingerboard radius and polyurethane gloss finish complete the specs list. The MSRP is set at $499.99.
