PB5 is the five-stringed half of the PB electric bass series (the other half is, of course, the four-stringed PB4 model). It leans on the classic P Bass design, mixing it with some of the advanced hardware, construction and electronics options developed by Kiesel Guitars. PB5 starts at pretty affordable $969 and the basic price includes a solid alder body, bolt-on maple neck and a 22-fret fingerboard made of ebony. Alternative body, top (plain, flamed, quilted, spalted, etc) neck and fingerboard tonewoods can be ordered with this model. Also, Kiesel offers a range of hardware, color & finish, electronics and inlay options. However, the basic PB5`s hardware and electronics sections sport the locking Carvin bridge (string-through construction), lone SPC split single-coil pickup in the middle/neck position and Carvin tuners.
