Jackson Guitars and David Ellefson of thrash juggernauts, Megadeth have had a very successful collaboration in past years. This time around their joint efforts are directed towards the beginners and players who are on a tight budget. Two brand new basses are being introduced and their price tags don`t go over $600. The first one is JS2 Kelly Bird IV, a four stringed bass with Kelly-shaped body. This body is solid and made entirely of basswood. No bindings and no top wood veneers are featured on this one, only bare bones. Also, there is no pickguard. Black Matte is the only color option assigned to this Kelly bass. Bridge section is a standard one for this price range and it consists of a four-saddle high mass bridge with black plating to complement the overall theme. Pickups are Jackson-made humbuckers in both bridge and neck positions. Volume and tone knobs are accompanied by a pickup pan knob. Neck is made of rock maple and it`s topped with a rosewood-made fingerboard. 21 jumbo-sized frets, block inlays, compound 12-16" radius and 1-5/8" wide string nut comprise the fingerboard.
