SRFF806 is a six-string Sound Gear bass with fanned frets and compound scale length. It is based on the flagship model of the SR Standard series, the regular SR806, but bares little resemblance to it. Mostly due to innovative construction solutions and different color palette it was introduced with.
SR806FF comes with a solid and carved ash body, instead of a mahogany/poplar burl combo featured on the original 806. Flashiness of the burl top was exchanged for a more intricate and discreet patterns of ash. Black Stain and Walnut Flat with Cosmo Black hardware replace somewhat more flamboyant Transparent Gray Burst with gold-plated hardware.
Neck on this model is a five-piece jatoba/bubinga option found on the basic 806, but has the modified SRFF profile in the back. It is topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with fanned frets and compound scale (it ranges from 35.5" on the lowest string to 33.6" on the highest string).
Six-string version of Bartolini BH1 pickup is featured in both the bridge and neck positions. Both pickups are slanted and passive. master volume, balance, three-band EQ (bass, mid, treble), EQ on/off switch and frequency selector (250MHz, 450MHz, 750MHz) give ton of tonal possibilities. Five separate and slanted Monorail saddles and five die-cast tuners complete the list of major features.
