Mike D`Antonio of Killswitch Engage is a long-time Ibanez signature artist, and one of the most popular too. His series has featured three models thus far, and at 2016 NAMM Ibanez has introduced the fourth generation model. MDB4 is a solid-bodied bass with four-string construction, simple and straightforward styling, beveled top and custom Mike D`Antonio fingerboard inlay at the 12th fret. Passive electronics supplied by Seymour Duncan and Ibanez hardware are among the main features of this metal beast. Though a four-stringer, MDB comes out of the factory with strings tuned down whole two steps. Solid and single-cut Explorer body of MDB4 is made of mahogany and is paired with a three-piece maple neck. MDB-shaped (custom neck shape named after Mike D`Antonio) neck has a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on top (1.65" nut, 12" radius, 34" scale, medium-sized frets). Classic and powerful Seymour Duncan combination of pickups includes SJB-2 in the bridge and SPB-1 in the middle position. Though modern metal is their native language, these bad boys also speak fluent rock and hard rock. Master volume, balance (front) and master tone (back of the body) comprise a simple controls unit. Accu-cast B200 hardtail bridge and die-cast tuners complete the specs list.
