Korn was one of the originators of what is today called nu metal, paving the way for the bands like Trivium, Killswitch Engage and others. Through numerous albums, tours and personell changes, tone of Korn has always managed to retain it`s relevance and importance in the world of contemporary heavy music. Fieldy`s bass work has contributed a large portion of that success. His signature model is made by Ibanez and it bears a simple and short name, K5. K comes from Korn and 5 is for the number of strings it has. K5 is solid, double-cut and made of mahogany. Pair of super strong humbuckers is installed in front of a five-saddled hardtail bridge. Neck is bolted to the body and made of five pieces of maple and walnut. It`s topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
