Gerald Veasley is a world class jazz bass player whose career spans several decades and multitude of top class recordings and live shows. For several years now, Gerald has a signature bass with Ibanez, the GVB 1006. For 2012, Ibanez prepared a brand new six-stringer, the GVB 36. It kicks off with a solid, double cutaway body made of alder back and flamed maple top. The top features no binding, or pickguards, as Ibanez and Mr. Veasley opted for the discreet elegance of the curves and bare flame maple top. This bass comes only in amber color with gloss finish. The bridge is a monorail with six independent saddles and top-load construction. The bridge is, as the rest of the hardware, plated in cosmo black. In pickups department, GVB 36 features two passive Bartolini humbuckers. Bridge position is occupied by MK1 6-R, and neck with MK1 6-F. These pickups are controlled through master volume, balance, treble boost/cut, bass and mid knobs. The neck is made of three pieces of maple with the rosewood fingerboard. 24 medium sized frets, abalone S oval inlays, 12" radius and 2.08" wide string nut wrap the fingerboard specs. 34" scale completes the list for GVB 36.
