M-85 is one of three currently available Guild electric basses (the other two are short-scaled Starfire models). It costs $1,610 and sports a chambered single-cut body (similar to the classic LP). M-85 is a four-stringed instrument made for a wide variety of styles and genres (pretty much everything, excluding metal and other extreme genres). It offers a chambered single-cut body, short-scale neck (30-3/4"), Guild electronics, as well as combined Guild/Grover hardware. Core construction features include laminated maple back & sides, laminated spruce top, 3-piece mahogany/maple/mahogany neck, and 21-fret rosewood fingerboard (narrow jumbo frets, dot inlays, 1-1/2" nut, 12" radius). Other important appointments include a hardtail bridge (w/rosewood saddles), Grover tuners, and Guild BS-1 pickup in the bridge position.
