A brand new concept that rides on the wave of success of ES-335 inspired Midtown Guitars, Midtown Bass is a brand new creation, but feels as though it has been in Gibson`s ranks for years and years. Classic design features, characteristic Gibson selection of tone woods and recognizable quality make this bass an instant classic candidate. This one comes with four distinctive color options: Ebony, Pelham Blue, Cherry and Vintage Sunburst. All of them come with nitrocellulose gloss finish. Body has a double cut design and semi hollow construction. It is made of mahogany back and maple top. This combo is pretty much a standard one for Gibson`s semi-acoustic models, as maple balances the tone without compromising mahogany`s low end. Top panel on this model is equipped with creme binding and a pair of carved "f" holes. Bridge section is equipped with Gibson`s standard three-point adjustable bridge with four saddles. It is plated in chrome, the same as the rest of the hardware. Pickups department rocks a TB mini bucker in the bridge and TB Plus in the neck position. Both are active and have a basic controls unit. Master volume, master tone and three-way toggle pickup switch are featured in it. Neck is made of mahogany, it`s set-in with mortise & tenon joint and equipped with a rounded profile. Finished in nitrocellulose, this neck is topped with a baked maple fingerboard with 20 frets. dot position inlays, 12" radius and 1.60" wide corian nut complete the fingerboard. Tuning machines installed on the headstock are made by Grover and come in Shamrock vintage style. Scale on this four-stringer measures standard 34 inches. The MSRP for Midtown Standard semi-hollow bodied bass is set at $1,999.
