Grabber Bass was first introduced in the early '70s and it was one of the strongest and most modern basses of it`s time. Successfully combining the features, the original Grabber was suitable for a wide range of styles from pop and funk to various styles of rock. Today, Gibson celebrates the original Grabber with a new and improved Grabber III '70s Tribute model. This one features a solid, double cut body made of maple. Contours are beveled on this one. Binding and top wood covers are discarded, for Grabber aims at players who can not afford an expensive instrument. Pickguard installed on the top surrounds the pickups. Bridge section is equipped with a well known and trusty 3-point adjustable bridge plated in chrome. Specially for this model Gibson developed a line of single coil pickups with Alnico V magnets. These are installed in S/S/S configuration and have master volume, master tone and three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck on this Grabber is made of maple and it features a mortise & tenon joint. Fast and slim body contour is featured in the back. Baked maple fingerboard is installed on the top of the neck and it sports a set of 20 frets with white dot position inlays. 12" radius and 1.50" wide corian nut complete the fingerboard. Chrome-plated Grover tuners and 34" scale complete the secs list. Ebony and Satin Honeyburst color options are available for this model.
