Ever since its introduction in 1964, short-scaled Mustang Bass has always been the rebel`s axe. From garage rock, to punk rock, grunge and alt rock & metal, Mustang Bass has helped shape the face of the alternative music for more than fifty years. Even some of the most prominent mainstream artists have adopted the Mustang into their style. Relying on rich history and aiming to write new pages, Fender has once more reinvented the Mustang through the vibrant Offset series. Four guitars and one bass make up the series initial lineup. No info on recommended prices has been given on Fender`s site. Mustang Bass PJ comes in with a pair of mighty single-coil pickups, delivering all the thunder and lightning its predecessors have been known for. Vintage Style Jazz and P pickups are paired with a guitar-like controls unit, which includes one volume, one tone and a classic three-way toggle switch. Offset alder body, C-shaped maple neck )bolt-on joint, satin finish) and 19-fret rosewood fingerboard (medium jumbo frets, 1.65" synthetic bone nut and 9.5" radius) form the chassis. All three color options (Torino Red, Sonic Blue and Olympic White) feature gloss polyester finish, chrome hardware and black plastics. Other major appointments include a top-load bridge, vintage-styled tuners and a classic string tree on the headstock.
