The inspiration for the AP series comes, quite obviously, from the 1950`s Precision. ESP does very little to hide it, leaving the classic extended pickguard on the body. Only two models make up the current lineup, a four-stringer and a five-stringer.
LTD AP-4 comes in with a straight-forward bolt-on construction, flat-top & double-cut body, modern, stealthy styling, upscale hardware, and active electronics. The J/P pickups cover everything from blues to metal, from pop to punk, and from reggae to funk. To go with the black pickup covers and black pickguard, ESP chose the gloss-finished black body paint.
Other notable features include a solid alder body, U-shaped maple neck, 21-fret fingerboard made of ebony, Babicz hardtail bridge, and Grover tuners.
