Hofner was wounded back in 1887 in what was then known as Austro-Hungarian Empire. Today, the company is headquartered in Hagenau, Germany and is one of Europe`s largest manufacturers of musical instruments. Classical guitars have entered the Hofner catalog in 1930 and remain one of the brand`s main products to this day. Limited Editions series deals with classical guitars made with exotic tonewoods. HLE-SAZ is one of only four currently active Limited Editions models. It comes with a non-cutaway body, 12th fret dovetail neck joint, 25-3/5" scale, high-quality hardware, and vintage styling. Hofner sells this model only in natural color. Main construction features include black chacate back & sides, solid cedar soundboard, solid mahogany neck, 19-fret fingerboard made of rosewood, fixed rosewood bridge, and classical tuners.
