RD-17 is one of two intermediate level dreadnoughts from the Classic series. The other one is RD-16, which comes in several variants. As opposed to that, RK assigned only the basic variant to the RD-17. It comes as a fully acoustic dread with non-cutaway body. It`s made of rosewood, spruce and mahogany, it`s the same set of woods as on RD-16, but with different arrangement. Rosewood is used for the back and side panels of the body, as well as for the bridge and fingerboard. Body is completed with a spruce-made sound board on the top. and beneath the fingerboard RK installs a mahogany-made neck. Neck features 14th fret dovetail joint and C contour. Tuners on the headstock are plated in chrome.
