AC models in the Artwood range come with grand concert bodies. Other than that, they`re very similar to the AW models (dreadnoughts), due to the fact that both of them belong to the same series. For 2014, Ibanez has introduced several grand concert models into the series lineup and AC400CE is one of them. It comes with a single-cut grand concert body with vintage styling and classic construction. Materials used for the body are mahogany and spruce (mahogany is also used for the neck). Back and sides are made of mahogany, while the top is made of spruce. This combination grants a strong, balanced tone with snappy response and strong low end (spruce adds mids and snap to mahogany`s warmth and depth). Series standard tortoise binding, tortoise shell pickguard and abalone rosette decorate the top. On the top, Ibanez installs the classic rosewood bridge with compensated saddle and Advantage string pins. Electronics department is made up by the excellent Fishman Sonicore pickup and reliable Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp. Preamp is mounted on the side and faces the player. Mahogany neck is attached to the body with a standard 14th fret dovetail joint. It`s topped with a regular 20-fret fingerboard made of rosewood.
