400 series in newly introduced Fall 2013 Limiteds range is an intermediate line of acoustic-electric guitars with new and improved Expression electronics system, standard-sized bodies and traditional Taylor styling. All of the models are single cut and have standard-length scales. 456ce-FLTD is the only twelve-string model in the series and it features the compact grand symphony body contour. It`s moderate size and depth are made up for with the forward shifted bracing and the new Expression electronics system. Taylor has opted for a more fingerpicking-friendly combination of tonewoods, for the back and sides are made of Indian rosewood and ae covered with west red cedar sound board. White binding, tortoise shell pickguard and triple circle rosette decorate the body. Bridge is solid, belly-contoured and made of ebony (ebony is Taylor`s standard for bridges and fingerboards). Controls for the electronics are mounted on the side of the body, facing the player. Tropical mahogany is used for the neck, as it is one of the most standard features throughout the Taylor catalog. On it`s top, there`s a 20-fret ebony fingerboard with dot inlays and 1-7/8" wide string nut. Taylor sets the MSRP for this model at $2,568.
