456ce-SLTD is one of five models and the only twelve-stringer in the new Spring 2014 400 series. It rocks the compact grand symphony body with single cutaway. Besides the string count and the tuning machines count, this model is almost identical to the rest of the 400 Spring Limited models. Body of 456ce is made of solid materials. Ovangkol is used for the back and sides, while the top is made of spruce. This combo is also a standard for the regular 400 line of acoustic-electric guitars found in the standard section of the catalog. Traditionally, there`s only one color option available for the models of this series, Natural. It`s finished in gloss and fit with gold-plated tuning machines. On the top, there`s the standard ebony bridge with a micarta saddle and Taylor pickup beneath it. Side-mounted preamp completes the famous Taylor Expression system. This is the second, more advanced version of the system. Neck on this twelve-stringer is made of tropical mahogany. In the back, it features the series standard contour (of course, the neck is a bit thicker to accommodate the extra six strings) and the dovetail joint. On the top, there`s a bound 20-fret ebony fingerboard.
