Blackwood 400 series from this Fall`s Limited Edition lineup is envisioned as the seasonal alternative to regular 400 series models. Main feature of the series is the use of Tasmanian blackwood for back and side panels. This tone wood is closely related to the Hawaiian koa, for they are both members of acacia family. This series also features Taylor Electronics on acoustic-electric models. 412ce-FLTD is a grand concert-shaped guitar with single cutaway design and acoustic-electric construction. Body is made of for mentioned Tasmanian blackwood back and side panels with western red cedar sound board on top. This combo produces strong low end with fingerpicking-friendly cedar warmth. Top panel is equipped with rock maple binding, tortoise shell pickguard and series standard sound hole rosette. Bridge section on this model is equipped with a standard ebony bridge made with TUSQ saddle and ebony string pins. Electronics are made by Taylor and feature Expression System made for steel-stringed guitars. Neck on this model is made of tropical mahogany and it features a regular 14th fret dovetail joint. On top, there`s ebony fingerboard installed. It has 20 frets, rock maple dot inlays and 1.75" wide TUSQ nut. Scale is 24-7/8" long and hardware for this series is plated in chrome. The MSRP is set at $2,898.
