St Augustine is a newly formed series of acoustic guitars in Dean catalog. It deals also with acoustic-electric guitars. From the models which have been introduced into the series at this year`s NAMM show, it is obvious that the focus of this series will be on the dreadnought guitars. Currently, three models make the series lineup. One is acoustic-electric and two are fully acoustic. Basically, these models offer affordable and well built bodies, solid tone and great playability. These dreads come with full-sized bodies with a bit shorter scales. 25-1/4" measure the scales. Also, bodies are not too deep and necks feature comfortable C contours, thus making St Augustine guitars more player-friendly. Besides this, string nuts on all three dreads are 1-5/8" wide. St Augustine Solid Top Classic Black is a non-cutaway dread with set in neck joint. Mahogany on the sides and in the back is laminated, while the spruce-made top is solid. Body is decorated with multi-ply binding and it`s finished in combination of gloss and satin lacquer. Neck is also made of mahogany and it features a 14th fret joint. Both the bridge and 20-fret fingerboard are made of rosewood.
