JEM series of solid-bodied electric guitars is made for Steve Vai and bears his name and signature. It`s models are created according to Steve`s specs and demands. One of those models is JEM77, a solid-bodied six stringer with "monkey handle" carved into the body. Pickups on this one are made by DiMarzio and are installed in H/S/H pattern. These passive pups have master volume, master tone and a five-position blade switch in controls unit. Bridge on this one is an Edge double-locking trem with cosmo black plating. Body of this model is made of standard basswood and it`s paired with a bolt-on maple neck. Neck is made of five pieces of maple and walnut and it`s topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.

A flawlessly made instrument, perfectly set up which plays beautifully and is every bit the equal of the many US custom shop and master built guitars that I possess. I will certainly be buying the next version when it appears.
