Schecter Jeff Loomis-6 FR Review
Jeff Loomis Series Electric Guitar by 'Schecter'
Jeff Loomis-6 FR is a new model for 2012 and it is situated in the Jeff Loomis signature line of models in the Schecter catalog. This one has a standard soloist shape and six strings. The main difference in comparison with the basic model of the series is the number of strings, this model has one less, exactly six. The body of this model is made of ash and has a standard Schecter double cutaway shape. The top is carved, but features no bindings and no pickguards. There is only one color option available for JL-6 FR, and it is a vampyre red satin. The bridge is a six-saddle Floyd Rose 1000 bridge with black chrome plating and a locking string nut. The pickup combo is a pair of active EMGs, 81 and 85 to be precise. The controls compartment has a standard Jeff Loomis series layout with a master volume and a three-way toggle switch. The neck is made of three pieces of maple and features a set-in joint with an ultra access. The fingerboard is also made of maple and it sports 24 extra jumbo sized frets with metal cross position inlays. Grover tuners and 25-1/2" scale complete the specs for Jeff Loomis-6 FR.
