Discovery is Breedlove`s entry series. It focuses on the beginner-class acoustic-electrics and its models are made in China (though designed and inspected in Bend, Oregon). The current lineup offers acoustic and acoustic concert and dreadnought models. Discovery Dreadnought is, as its name suggests, a fully acoustic dreadnought steel-stringer. It comes with a non-cutaway body, standard 25-1/2" scale, electronics-free construction, and a versatile tone. Main construction features include laminated okume back & sides, solid Sitka spruce soundboard, standard 14th fret dovetail neck joint, and stock hardware. Breedlove sells this one only in Natural Gloss finish. Other notable features include a solid okume neck, a 20-fret ovangkol fingerboard (1-11/16" graphite string nut, dot inlays), a fixed ovangkol bridge, and closed-gear tuners.
