656ce is the fourth and final model of the four-piece 600 Maple series Taylor has introduced for 2015. It is one of two grand symphony guitars, and the only twelve-string model in the lineup. Just like the 616ce, 656ce comes with a single-cut body equipped with the second generation of Taylor`s famous Expression System (it is made up of a piezo pickup installed behind the bridge saddle, and a preamp installed onto the shoulder of the body). Body is, of course, made of maple back and sides (painted in gorgeous Brown Sugar paint), and torrefied Sitka spruce sound board on top. Both back and top are bound in ebony/abalone binding. Tropical mahogany neck is attached to the body through a standard 14th fret dovetail joint, and is topped with a 20-fret ebony fingerboard with gorgeous grained ivoroid wing inlays.
