Spring 2010 brought Blackwood 500 series to the lines of Taylor Limited Edition. Limited series are often based upon the standard series of the catalog which are given custom shop treatment and made available during a limited period of time. Spring 2010 Blackwood series consists of two models and 514ce-LTD is the grand auditorium variant. It`s back and sides are made of blackwood, while the top remains spruce made. Top is bound in ivoroid and finished in gloss. Bridge section is equipped with a belly shaped ebony bridge. In the electronics section, 514ce-LTD features Taylor`s own Expression preamp system. Neck on this model is made of tropical mahogany and it is topped with an ebony fingerboard. 20 frets, dot position inlays and1-3/4" TUSQ nut complete the fingerboard.
