Selmer Guitars were created in the first half of the 20th century and were popularized by Django Reinhardt. Since then, many jazz guitarists have adopted this unusual-styled acoustic guitar as their instrument of choice. Today, Selmer guitars are less popular than regular steel-stringed acoustics and nylon-stringed classical guitars and are produced in lesser quantities. However, their fan base is very dedicated. DG-455 is a single cut guitar with an oval sound hole and body made of rosewood back and sides with spruce sound board on top. Top panel is equipped with black binding and a small rosette. Bridge section is a two-piece. It features an ebony bridge in the front and trapezoid tailpiece in the back. Mahogany-made neck is topped with a 21-fret ebony fingerboard.
