Alkaline Trio Malibu model is a part of the Artist Design Series, it is a new model for 2012. It was represented at the NAMM Show. This is a signature model for Chicago based hardcore/punk band Alkaline Trio and it starts off with a non-cutaway folk shaped body made of laminated mahogany top, back and sides. The only color available is natural with gloss finish. This flat-top model features several layers of binding and a very distinctive, heart-shaped sound hole rosette. There is no pickguard featured on this model. The bridge has a belly shape and is made of rosewood. It features white string pins and synthetic bone saddle. The saddle is compensated. The electronics are not featured on Alkaline Trio Malibu, it is a fully acoustic model. The neck is made of maple with a C contour and bolt-on joint. It features Strat headstock, white binding and rosewood fingerboard. The fingerboard is equipped with 20 frets and dot position inlays. String nut is made of synthetic bone and measures 1.625" in width. The scale on this model is the same as on electric Fender models, 25-1/2". The MSRP for the Alkaline Trio Malibu is set at $399.99.
