Johnson Guitars have a small series of resonator guitars in their catalog and JR-550 is it`s flagship model. It comes with a standard non-cutaway body made of mahogany in it`s entirety. Back, side and top panels are made of mahogany, which is the most popular material for one-wood models. There are no electronics installed on this resonator for Johnson Guitars opted for pure acoustic construction. Top panel of this model is equipped with white binding, a pair of "f" holes and resonator cone. Cone is equipped with the bridge section, which is a traditional two-piece with bridge in front and trapezoid tailpiece in the back. Neck on this model is made of mahogany and it`s topped with a standard 19-fret rosewood fingerboard.
