Korean manufacturer Cort has a long lasting business relationship with Gene Simmons which resulted in numerous signature bass models thus far. Very successful, line of Gene Simmons signatures made by Cort gets a reinforcement. But, now it is a Gene Simmons signature six-string electric guitar that is being unveiled. Some would think of this as an unexpected move for a bassist and vocalist, but Gene is a very sound businessman and a legend of rock`n`roll whose axe bass was desired by countless guitarists as well. Brand new GS Guitar Axe-2 is hitting the stage right in time for 2012 NAMM Show. Solid body, solid quality and affordable price are along with a radical design, strongest points of this axe.
Cort GS Guitar Axe-2 comes as a solid bodied double cutaway model with a body made of basswood. The shape of this model is taken from Gene`s bass which conquered and terrorized the world`s biggest stages for more than thirty years. Along with a grey-black axe shape comes the chrome hardware with die-cast tuners and Mighty Mite passive humbuckers. Simple controls layout is topped with a three-way toggle switch. Maple neck is bolted to the body and equipped with 24 large fret rosewood fingerboard. tune-o-matic bridge and 12 inch fingerboard radius complete the specs.
