SBG series in Yamaha catalog is made up of several solid-bodied rockers with double-cut bodies and set in necks. These six-stringers comes with a specific design, which combines the front end of the SG and the rear end of the Les Paul. This is a rarely used combo, though pretty much every hybrid of Gibson`s iconic models has been made. SBG1000 is the opening model of the series and it comes with a solid mahogany body with maple top. Black, Brown Sunburst and Red Sunburst are color options assigned to this model, and all are finished in gloss. Tune-o-matic bridge and stoptail bar comprise the bridge section and are fronted by a pair of open-coil humbuckers. Set maple neck is topped with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard.
