Pacifica series owes it`s planetary popularity to the fact that it isn`t just another Stratocaster clone series, but instead, it is Yamaha`s authentic take on the classic double-cut concept. Mostly, these models feel best in jazz, rock, blues and fusion bands, but occasional hard rock, latin and vintage rhythm and blues won`t catch these six stringers off guard. PAC012 comes with a solid agathis body and maple neck. Black, Dark Blue Metallic and Red Metallic form the color palette for this model, and all three come with glossy finish. Chrome-plated trem bridge is stable, durable and very player-friendly. Pickups are installed in H/S/S configuration. They`re passive and have a basic controls unit. Master volume, master tone and a five-position blade switch. Bolt-on maple neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Die-cast Yamaha tuners sit on the unpainted headstock.

There were enough features on this guitar when I was still a beginner six years ago, but today I know that many things are missing. The guitar is now six years old and still sounds good and doesn´t make any problems, I use it as backup guitar for my custom guitar build from various parts that often needs to be repaired. The price was acceptable, for a beginner it is a really good guitar and it has the quality to be also used later, but if I´d loose it I wouldn´t buy a new one. I think she´s a beauty and using it for a long time I know how to treat her, for example it is very important to use the switch very carefull if you don´t want to repair it often (one time in two years).
