PX Solar 160WHM is the basic model of the Ola Englund signature series made by Washburn. It is a solid and double-cut guitar with modern Soloist-styled contours and modern tone. Primarily, Solar series models are made for players who intend to play modern styles of metal music and to shred (thus the passive electronics). Body of the PX Solar 160WHM is made entirely of alder and is paired with a maple neck. There`s only one color option available for this intermediate class shred machine, White Matte. It is, naturally, finished in matte and fit with chrome hardware. For the bridge section, Washburn and Ola have picked the standard six-saddled hardtail bridge with string-through construction. Pair of Duncan Designed passive humbuckers is installed in it`s front are controlled through master volume, master tone and a five-position blade switch. Maple neck is slim, fast and has a 24-fret ebony fingerboard on it`s top. Large frets, custom 12th fret inlay and a wide radius complete the fingerboard specs. Grover tuners are installed on the headstock to complete the features list for this model. Washburn has not specified the price for this model, but it was indicated that this one will go for well under $1,000.
