Schecter`s Omen Series expands rapidly at the beginning of 2012. Many new models are being introduced and among them is this eight-stringer. Made for metalheads with taste in extreme metal and heavily down-tuned guitars, Omen-8 2012 covers the lowest registers possible with a standard eight strings. Omen-8 2012 is coming up with a solid, double cutaway body made of basswood. The top is, as it is on other Omens, carved and adorned with ivoroid and black binding. The color of it depends on the color of the body, as there are black gloss, vintage white gloss and walnut satin options. The bridge is an eight-saddle Schecter-made CTM 8 bridge with string-through-body construction and black chrome plating. The pickups are a special, extended range version of Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers. The controls consist of master tone, master volume and a three-way toggle switch. The neck is made of maple and equipped with a comfortable contour and bolt-on joint. All of the Omen series models have fingerboards made of rosewood with 24 extra jumbo-sized frets and semi-gothic position inlays. The MSRP for Omen-8 2012 is set at $569.
