Leela 40 is among the models which are made by Peerless to honor the four decades in business. It comes with a standard archtop jazz body which is made of laminated flamed maple back and sides and solid flamed maple top. The top is bound in black, white and abalone binding. Also, it features a pair of bound "f" holes. The bridge is made entirely of ebony and it is paired with an ebony tailpiece. In the pickups department Peerless installs one Kent Armstrong humbucker in the neck position. It is controlled through master volume and tone knobs. The neck on this model is made of maple and it features a set-in joint. Fingerboard is made of ebony and it comes with 20 frets, "40" inlay at the 12th fret and 1.69" wide bone nut.
