This very special SC 245 is a tribute model made in honor of the late Ted McCarty. Mr McCarty was the president and the driving force behind Gibson`s success in 1950s and 1960s. He contributed to countless patents, hardware parts and models design and construction so much, that it would be impossible to imagine the world of electric guitars without his input. Yet ,like Leo Fender, Mr McCarty never played guitar. Paul Reed Smith ha named Mr McCarty the defining influence on his guitar-building career and since 1994 PRS Guitars produce a line of models named after Mr McCarty. Never before was a guitar been named after him. This current SC 245 Ted McCarty model belongs to the Signature series and it kicks off with a solid, single-cut body made of mahogany back with flame maple top. Vintage styling, nickel plated hardware and glossy finish decorate the carved top made of two pieces of maple. Wrap around stopbar is fronted by PRS 57 and 08 pickups. Two volume knobs, two tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch comprise the controls unit for this model. Set in neck is made of mahogany and it`s topped with a 22-fret fingerboard made of bound rosewood.
