SLATXMGQ 3-6 is a solid electric guitar with a contoured body made of basswood sides and maple neck in the middle. Also, both the Tobacco Burst and Transparent Red color options feature a quilted maple top. Quilt tops are made of two matching pieces of maple, and both variants feature gloss finishes. High grade American basswood is used for the Jackson`s X series Soloist models introduced this year. This is a series-wide feature, as basswood is used to replace the alder which is saved for the Pro series and other upscale ranges. On the quilted top, SLATXMGQ 3-6 features a Floyd Rose Special locking bridge painted in black. In front of it, a pair of active EMG humbuckers is installed (81 in the bridge and 85 in the neck). These heavy metal veterans are equipped with a pretty basic controls unit - master volume knob, master tone knob and a three-way toggle switch are there. Maple neck rocks the standard Speed Neck profile in the back, the contour responsible for the famous "Jackson playability". On the top, it features a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard (rosewood is a substitute tonewood, just like basswood - it substitutes ebony). Piranha inlays and the locking nut are a common sight on the X series models with locking trem bridges. Jackson`s own tuners grace the headstock in the classic 3+3 arrangement.
