The cult S series has been around since the 80`s and it helped shape the face of modern rock and metal music more than 90% of guitar series out there. Together with the legendary RG, S series forged Ibanez`s identity as the premier metal guitar brand and a go to guitar when you need the ultimate playability. At 2016 winter NAMM, Ibanez has introduced a pair of six-stringed S series models and S5521Q is one of them. This Prestige S model features the flamboyant Dark Purple Doom Burst color scheme, 25-1/2" scale and passive electronics. The body of this absolutely marvelous six-shooter is made of mahogany base and a two-piece quilt maple cap on top. White binding around the top contrasts the purple/gray color scheme with grace and elegance. Five-piece maple/walnut neck boasts Super Wizard HP profile and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. The fingerboard is a modern one, featuring 1.69" nut, 16.90" radius and jumbo frets. V7 and V8 pickups are among the finest passive pickups money can buy. They`re perfect for all-round players who need to tend to both rhythm and lead duties. Master volume, master tone and a five-position blade switch comprise the controls. Gibraltar Standard II bridge and locking Gotoh tuners complete this purple-clad beast.
