S Prestige Electric Guitars by Ibanez

S series is a line of double-cut guitars with carved tops and bolted necks. It was made 25 years ago as an alternative to RG series and aims at players who find RG design too simple. For 2013 Ibanez updates this series with several new models. One of them is also S5427. It comes with a solid, double-cut body made of mahogany. This gives the basis for a tight low end and super strong tone. Top is carved and features no decorative wood cap. Also, there is no binding around the edges of the top. Bridge section features a double locking trem bridge with seven saddles. It is matched with a locking nut at the opposite end of the 25-1/2" scale. Pickups on this model are passive and installed in H/H configuration. Controls include master volume, master tone and a five-position blade switch. Neck on this model is made of five pieces of maple and wenge and features a standard 24-fret rosewood fingerboard on top.
