Here comes a completely new breed of guitars from Ibanez. RGKP series could, quite easily, like it`s parent RG series back in the `80s, prove to be a game-changer. Radically new approach to the application of the electronics is what sets this one-axe series a world apart from everything else on the market these days. Classic and simple RG platform has been taken as the basis for the new RGKP. The series that`s lead one revolution is now taking things to a completely new level. RGKP6 kicks off with a timeless double-cut RG body made of mahogany. It comes in matte black and features the state-of-the-art RG maple neck with bolt-on joint and Wizard contour. 24 jumbo frets and 1.69" wide string nut are featured on the rosewood fingerboard. Standard headstock sports a black-colored decal with company logo and six in-line tuners. Also, there is a regular six-saddled hardtail bridge with string-through contour. This is the point where standards and traditions seize and the future begins. IBZ-KP Passive/Ceramic humbucker is alone in the bridge position. Along with it, master volume, gain and distortion volume knobs are installed. One mini-switch toggles the built-in distortion on and off, while the other activates and deactivates the center-piece feature - the beyond-the-words amazing KORG mini kaoss pad 2S unit. It is a removable sort-of-processor with a bunch of preprogrammed effects which basically combine the effects of a whammy bar and various pedals. Touch screen serves as the whammy bar (field in this case), while the surrounding buttons serve to dial in the effects and regulate their levels. Also, MP3 files can be loaded onto it and played along with.
