RG421 is one of the novelties introduced into the RG Fixed series for 2013. It was introduced at the NAMM show this January, along with other Ibanez catalog updates. This one is a simple RG guitar with fixed bridge. Six saddles, string-through construction and black plating complete the bridge. Besides the bridge, the rest of the hardware is also painted black, as it is RG segment standard. In it`s front Ibanez installs a pair of their own Infinity humbuckers. These are passive and have fantastic tone. Neck pickup is famous for it`s clarity and outstanding harmonics. Master volume, master tone and a five-position blade switch comprise one standard RG electronics unit. Neck is made of three pieces of maple and it`s equipped with one of the fastest, smoothest and most comfortable contours in the industry, legendary Wizard contour. It`s bolted tot he body and topped with a standard 24-fret fingerboard. Jumbo frets, plain white dot inlays, 1.69" radius and 15-3/4" radius complete the standard RG fingerboard. Upper fret accessibility is aided with RG series famous deep cutaway. Body is made entirely of mahogany. It`s flat on the top and contoured in the back.
