RG2XXV is a model from the anniversary RG series made by Ibanez. This one is second in line, preceded by RG1XXV unveiled earlier this year. RG2XXV is a thoroughbred RG shred machine with all of the appointments standard to regular RGs. The only non-standard thing about this model is it`s color palette. Fluorescent Pink and Fluorescent Yellow are designated color schemes for this model. Headstocks and dot inlays match the body color, while the hardware is black. Finish on both models is gloss. This six-stringed shred axe features 25-1/2" scale and 15-3/4" fingerboard radius, two of the most standard measures throughout the RG series. Body is solid, equipped with a characteristic double cutaway and made of basswood. Flat top, no binding and no top wood veneer, just bare bones is the philosophy behind this model, for it sports the RG essentials which made gained this series such a dedicated fan base. Bridge section is equipped with a black Edge Zero double locking bridge. In the pickups area Ibanez installs a set of their own pickups: Infinity 4 humbucker in the bridge, Infinity 3 single in the middle and Infinity 3 humbucker in the neck position. They feature a standard controls unit made up of master volume, master tone and five-position blade switch. Pickguard is black and made of plastic. It also serves as a cover for the electronics department. Neck on this anniversary RG is made of three pieces of maple and equipped with wizard III contour in the back. This neck also appears on majority of RGs and is sort of a standard feature for this series. Also, Wizard III neck is a standard by which fast necks are defined throughout the industry. It is traditionally bolted to the body and covered with a fingerboard made of rosewood. There is no binding around the fingerboard. It comes with a set of 24 jumbo-sized frets with dot position inlays. String nut measures 1.69" in width. It is slightly wider and when combined with 15-3/4" fingerboard radius, it gives a fantastic ground to build your shredding skills on.
