RG2EX1 comes from the highly acclaimed RG Fixed series of electric guitars. It offers a wide range of metal-oriented guitars which don`t cost a small fortune, but still give great tone. All of the guitars in this series come with fixed bridges and RG2EX1 is no exception. All bridges have string-through construction. Plain, flat and double-cut body is made of basswood and it has no top wood covers. This flat-topped six-stringer is available in Black, Candy apple and Jewel Blue. All three color schemes are finished in high gloss. Pair of active humbuckers is installed in the pickups department of this guitar and it features a standard electronics unit. Neck is made of maple and it is topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.

Believe it or not it has a 5-position pickup switch, 2 and 4 resemble single coils in bridge and neck respectively although looks like the 2 humbuckers like the Fender Blacktop Strat HH with Rosewood Fretboard. Awesome sounds as compared with a lot of brands using the same amp and setting I use at home. It looks like it has the quality of a much more expensive guitar. After it beat out all the others in the store it's value and quality are outstanding. I got the white one with black outline and accents. It'll be one of the best guitars I've ever owned.
