AF155 is a brand new hollow-bodied model introduced at the NAMM show earlier this year. It was featured at Ibanez booth, along with the other catalog updates. Interesting thing about this model is that it is the flagship model of the newly established Artstar series, which is dedicated to the production of the vintage-styled jazz guitars. AF155 comes with a fully hollow body made entirely of flamed maple. Gorgeous flame pattern is accentuated with Aged Whisky Burst color scheme with high gloss finish over it. Other decorations include multi-ply binding, carved "f" holes and a flame maple pickguard on top of the body. Bridge section is a standard one for a vintage jazz guitar, it features a fixed wooden bridge with trapezoid tailpiece in the back. In it`s front Ibanez installs a set of Custom '58 humbuckers. Separate volume, separate tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch comprise the controls unit. Neck is made of three pieces of mahogany and maple and it sports the Artstar contour in the back. It`s topped with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard.

I spent an hour playing this guitar through a Fender Bues Jr , a Fender Excelsior , and a new Fender 65 Princeton Reverb , all new amps .The Princeton with a 1 - 10 inch speaker was a bit small i thought for the hollowbody . The guitar Totally sweet sounding guitar , easy to play , pickups very responsive . Workmanship very very nice I am seriously considering buying it .
