Hofner`s Gold Label series represents the current top of the catalog and is a section on it`s own. Gold label uses only the finest tone woods and hardware appointments available from this brand. It is treated as sort of a custom shop line, for it`s models are made in very limited numbers and can be subject to customization. Master build, supreme tone and royal elegance grace these models. They do cost a lot, but they deliver even more. One of the models introduced for 2013 is Chancellor Thinline. It is basically the same as the regular Chancellor, only with a bit thinner body. Chancellor Thinline is a fully hollow jazz guitar with single cutaway and set neck joint. It`s body is made of flamed maple back and sides with spruce sound board. Both the back and front panel are arched and the top is carved with a pair of "f" holes. Bridge section features a fixed brass bridge with a trapezoid tailpiece in the back. Hofner Diamond pickups with separate volume and tone knobs are installed in the front. Flamed maple neck on this model is set in and topped with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard.
