Newport Pro Custom is a luxurious model from the Newport series in Hamer catalog. This series belongs to the USA segment and it deals with the semi-hollow electrics made after the legendary ES semis from Gibson. Hamer styling, different tonewoods and different pickups make sure Newports have their own personality and style. Mahogany body is semi-hollow and is topped with a carved spruce sound board. Top is bound in creme binding and has two "f" holes. Hardware on this Pro Custom six-stringer is plated in gold. Tune-o-matic bridge is paired with an elegant tailpiece and fronted by two Seymour Duncan active humbuckers with gold-plated covers. Master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle pickup switch complete the controls. Mahogany neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.

It is my great fortune to own a Hamer Newport Pro Custom. I could not get a more ideal guitar if I won the lottery and had it custom made (by Jol Dantzig!) A listener tells me it sounds like "melting butter" (ooooohhh yeah!). Everything on this guitar was carefully done. From the headstock to the tailpiece. I would not sell it for any price. (it is perfect) It is beautiful. The action is flat and fast. The pickups are Seymour Duncan Seth Lover (sweet - mellow). I use Elixir electric light. TONE IS incredible. I have it insured for $5,000. It will play nice soft jazz, rhythmic blues, thumpin country and wigglin rock. It fell in love with it the moment I saw it (about 4 or 5 years ago). I have been in love with it ever since. There are no words to describe how lucky I am to have one (they are not plentiful and I do not think they made many of them). I will have this guitar when I pass from this earth. Thank you Jol and thank you Hamer. I have never seen a more perfect guitar for any price.
