Thus far, the Gretsch-made electric guitars with Falcon design have been known as some of the finest hollow-bodies out there, but for the summer of 2014, Gretsch has decided to introduce the magnificent semi-hollows with Falcon design. Semi-hollow and single-cut G6139CB Falcon is nothing short of a complete killer. It has smoking hot looks, premium materials, unrepeatable tone and unmatched playability. Back, sides and the top of this gorgeous six-stringer are made of five-ply maple. This guarantees the recognizable Gretsch tone. Add the High Sensitive Filtertron pickups and this baby is bound to satisfy even the most hard core Falcon fans. Center block runs through the entire length of the body and is made of spruce, which goes very well with the omnipresent maple (neck is also made of maple). Center block is also fit with a series of weight relief chambers near the lower bout. Classic Adjustomatic bridge with rosewood base and trapezoid tailpiece is installed on top. It is flanked by a pair of vintage-styled "f" holes and fronted by said Filtertron humbuckers with a standard controls unit. Maple neck is rounded in the back and is topped with a bound 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with thumbnail inlays and 12" radius. Grover tuners wrap the specs list. Price tag`s been set at $4,150 for both the black and white options.
