The exclusive G6136I Bono Irish Falcon is a recreation of the Falcon guitar Bono used on the US leg of the 2005 tour. This proud and green-clad Falcon is aimed at the die-hard fans of U2, as well as every other player out there who knows and appreciates the style and tone of the majestic Gretsch Falcon. The fact that it belongs to the Professional Collection, renders this beauty unavailable for a vast majority of players out there, as Professional Collection represents the pinnacle of the standard section of the Gretsch catalog (U.S. Custom Collection models do rank above the Professionals, but are regarded as the separate, custom shop series). G6136I comes in Soul Green color set against the gold-plated hardware and white binding. Fully hollow and single-cut body is made in the Falcon tradition, it`s deep, spacious and gives a very generous and rich tone. The main (and the only) material used for the construction of the body is Gretsch`s favorite - laminated maple. Arched back, arched sound board and 2-3/4" deep sides are made of it. Arched sound board, standard 22-fret fingerboard and stylish vintage headstock are all bound in characteristic white binding, while the sound board also features over-sized "f" holes, elevated plastic pickguard with "The Soul is Goal" inscription.Vintage bridge unit is fit with an ebony-based bridge with Gretsch Cadillac G tailpiece. A pair of High Sensitive Filter`Tron pickups in the front features a special controls unit (master volume, bridge volume, neck volume, 3-position master tone switch and 3-eay toggle pickup switch). V-shaped maple neck is set in and is topped with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard. Classic Gretsch headstock rocks the vintage-styled Grovers.
